A game soundtrack is very important when playing a basketball sim, it makes the whole experience complete and hip-hop and basketball have always been together like peanut butter and jelly. As noted by Jason Argent, 2K Sports’ Vice President of Marketing, emphasized the important of music is to NBA 2K series.
“Music has always been an integral part of our NBA 2K video games, as it further immerses players into the world of basketball and enhances their gaming experience,” Jason said. “It was important to us that the NBA 2K12 soundtrack was not only what you hear while navigating the menus, but also in real-life situations like pre-game highlight introductions and during timeouts, just as you would hear a song while at a game or watching on TV.”
This year NBA 2K12 soundtrack consists of old/new tunes from artist such as Kurtis Blow “Basketball” to Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ “Fast Lane”. Other artists’ featured on this soundtrack are Aceyalone, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Cee-Lo Green, plus original tracks from Freddie Gibbs, Alex K. and D.J.I.G – winners of the Duck Down contest and many others.

Great news kyisha, not only am I an insidesportsgeeks but also a hip-hop head (aka hip-hop geeks). To answer your q the track is called Shout the Winners Out from artists such as Skyzoo, Smif-N-Wessun & Pharoahe Monch (Duck Down All-Star 2).
Looked at each tracks and there were some I didn’t find online, no music/video. I’m thinking it might be Freddie Gibbs, Looks Easy. Will get back to you with more info.
