CES 2012: Simple.TV

There is an increase of consumers ditching cable for cost saving alternatives and here is another device that lets you do, introducing Simple.TV.

Simple.TV is a HD tuner/DVR rolled into one. The Buffalo Inc.’s ViXS XCode 4210 chip is what power this cute little device. Capture/streams broadcast TV show in MPEG-4 variable bitrate on mobile phones, connected tablets, TV boxes such as Roku and Boxee Box. DVR functionality works by adding a USB type storage (external drives) and for an additional $4.99 a month, allows for unlimited remote streaming for up to 5 users.

Simple.TV has a MSRP of $149 and will be available later this spring.
