Cubs and Sox get swept in their series

Chicago – Both the Chicago Cubs and White Sox were swept in their respective 3 game series. White Sox lost tonight 7-6 to the Minnesota Twins. Jon Garland gave up a five-run lead, allowing six earned runs on five hits in six innings. David Aardsma gave up the final run on the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded. After the game Ozzie Guillen said “I’m willing to take the blame, like I always do. In the meanwhile, those 25 guys out there, they’re professional, they get paid pretty good money, and they have to do their job. They’d better look themselves in the mirror and start thinking about what they’re going to do. ”

Up on the North side the Cubs played host to the Florida Marlins. It was a shut-out game, Cubs lost 9-0. Ted Lilly allowed 6 runs, 5 earned and 7 hits on 7 innings. Alfonso Soriano went 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts. Uggla and Cabrera both homered each on the 1st inning for the Marlins. Cubs will have a day off tomorrow (Thur.) and 3 game series with the Atlanta Brave starting Friday.
