No Hitter by a Rookie

Clay Buchholz made history by being the first Boston Red Sox rookie to throw a no hitter, defeating the Baltimore Orioles 10-0. The 23 year old from Nedarland, Texas was selected 42th in the 2005 MLB draft and made his debut on August 17. On his second major league starts, he struck out nine, walked three and hit one batter as the Red Sox defeated the Orioles.
