NBA Extends Multi-Year Agreements for Both 2K and EA Sports

Today the National Basketball Associations announced it has extended its deal with both sports game developers’ 2K Sports and EA Sports . The multi-year agreement, which were not disclosed on the length of the year, gives Take-Two Interactive and Electronic Arts licensing opportunity to continue making NBA title and possible new titles through online downloadable and social media platforms.

“The top-selling NBA 2K series continues to be a pillar of Take-Two’s foundation for growth,” said Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two. “We’re confident that our renewed partnership with the NBA will extend the unparalleled success of this franchise. We’re thrilled to be in business with David, Adam and the entire team at the NBA.”

The multi-year agreement gives 2K Sports license deal since 1999 and EA Sports since 1991. It was not long ago when Atari, Midway and Sony were all part of non-exclusive licensees.

Hopefully this agreements will continue to build fun and new exciting features on our NBA video games for years to come.
